Aromatherapy is derived from two words. Aroma- meaning fragrance or smell and Therapy- meaning treatment.
It is the art and science of using oils that are extracted from plants to enhance your health and beauty. Besides those physical benefits, aromatherapy also has a subtle effect on your mind and emotions. Certain plants are used to give certain effects.
Some form of aromatherapy has been around since the begining of civilization. The egyptions were very knowledgeable of the subject and practiced it without knowing that in the years to come the advancement that will take place.
There is over 90 different plants that can be used for treatment of many different types. Each plant has their own functions and if you mix a couple together then you can come up with a whole different treatment.
